Rail Engineering Solutions, LLC (RES) emerges as a visionary venture by rail entrepreneurs who recognized the pressing need for innovation within the rail industry amidst the challenges posed by the global pandemic. Witnessing the profound impact of travel restrictions and escalating supply chain costs on businesses, they identified an opportunity to revolutionize the industry.
Each partner brings their own contribution to the team. One partner brings extensive expertise across sales, electrical and mechanical systems, air brakes, locomotive system upgrades, and rail operations. This includes proficiency in equipment evaluations, training, operational assessments, rail infrastructure, manufacturing, remanufacturing, and more. The second partner contributes expertise in consulting, interpersonal skills, financing, accounting, and related areas

RES joined forces with expert global rail professionals, rekindling ties with historical customers, establishing new relationships with various industries worldwide, including class 1 railroads, regional railroads, government entities, private operators, and key industries like steel, cement, chemical, farming, and sugar.
With a solid foundation, RES now has the capability to replace outdated rolling stock with modern or new alternatives, providing surplus rolling stock globally in a cost-effective and timely manner. Leveraging experienced shop teams and facilities, RES adds value to both buyers and sellers. Through ongoing customer relationships, RES customizes locomotives to fit clients’ budgets and operational requirements, offering fleet replacement programs that stand out.
RES outsources the majority of its manufacturing, ensuring quality control through an ongoing presence and overseas checkpoints to guarantee customers receive the quality they pay for. All new and remanufactured locomotives meet or exceed OEM specifications.
Each delivered locomotive undergoes three levels of quality management – the first at the partner facility, the second by the RES engineering and quality assurance team, and the third, most crucial level, involves the customer. This triple-layered quality control approach is unprecedented in the rail industry, showcasing RES’s commitment to providing top-notch care and excellence as a fundamental part of its business model.
